I am the Research Lab Manager at the Yachie Lab, School of Biomedical Engineering at the University of British Columbia, where I oversee the operations and research management that keep science moving, from finances and resources to supporting the people doing the work. My scientific roots are in immunology and the microbiome, where I spent seven years in wet-lab research before stepping into a role that lets me see the whole picture.

I came to science by a winding road, beginning as a life science consultant advising clients across Asia and North America in pharma and biotech, before a Master's in Biotechnology from NYU drew me back to the bench. The question of how science reaches the world beyond the lab has stayed with me ever since.

Outside of science, stories have always been my other language. I write fiction, mostly short stories and flash fiction, and you can find some of that on my Substack. I also have a particular fondness for one book specifically, which has led to a collecting habit that's gotten completely out of hand.
